Auto Monkey qualifies and vets every single mobile mechanic on the platform. The majority of our mechanics have over 10 years automotive experience. Some are ASE-Certified, while others have either let their certifications expire or haven't taken the time or spent the money to take the test. 

On average we field 50 applicants each month. Only a very select few make it through our vetting process. We want to ensure the each technician and mechanic passes litmus tests, background checks and has the temperament to work with customers onsite in a way that fits our company's friendly, service based philosophy.

Each mechanic's profile shows their years of experience, and field badges. 

We actively monitor their performance and request our customers to help us stay in the know. Customers are provided a brief survey at the end of each service request where they can rate and review their mobile mechanic. These scores are prominently shown on the mechanic's profile also so others can see how they fare.

Our easy to read estimates will show you the labor time, shop rate, parts, fees and taxes. We leave nothing off the table because you should know everything your paying for and how it adds up. No consumer should ever be left in the dark when it comes to how they are spending their money. So there's never any sketchy write up, or caveats to wonder about. 

Our shop rates are lower, yet we pay our mechanics more than any of our competitors. This is only one of the ways we take better care of the community you live in and we serve. We believe inflation comes from companies over-charging and not passing those rates along to its contractors and employees. So we work a bit differently.

We require every service be approved before the mechanic begins the work. Nobody wants any surprises when the job is done. It's the worst feeling in the world to take your car in for a simple brake job and expect to pay $300 and end up paying $3000 because they wouldn't let you leave without changing your oil, filter, spark plugs, radiator, starter motor and seat covers. This is why Auto Monkey operates up-front and honestly from the diagnostic to the price.

noN-Biased based pricing

What exactly, do we mean by non-biased pricing? This means regardless of who you are or where you live, the pricing is the same. 

We've all heard the stories. We all know the game. Shops are famous for passing along pricing based on if they believe the person is car savvy or not, or if their car is in a location where they have few or no other options.  This type of game is unfair, unethical and to us...it's immoral. It's just not right. This is why our pricing all derives from industry standard labor guides based on manufacturer specifications. 

We provide fair transparent pricing for all—again, non-biased pricing. We provide a flat-rate for the services, so there's no need for negotiating, and there's no surprises when it's done. The pricing doesn't change even if it takes the mechanic longer than the allotted time. 

Your ratings and input matter

Customers can rate and review the mechanic after every service call. We hold our authorized contractors and mechanics to the highest of standards in order to maintain their spot on the platform. Customer ratings are reviewed at the end of each service request and averaged for a final scored. 

We require our mechanics to adhere to company standards and policies. These boil down to these 5 basics items. 

  1. Perform the repair or service correctly and according to the work order.
  2. Arrive at the vehicle’s site on time.
  3. Provide clear communication regarding timelines with the customer.
  4. Ensure the vehicle and surrounding work area is left clean and in good standing order.
  5. Respect privacy and other company policies.
